Day 4
Philippians 2:3-8
Scripture Reading(ESV)
3Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
4Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
5Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
6who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
8And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Today's Reflection
Jesus shows us the most beautiful picture of love through humility and selflessness. This passage challenges our natural tendency toward self-focus by inviting us to consider others' needs as genuinely important as our own. This doesn't mean neglecting self-care or becoming a doormat, but rather expanding our circle of concern beyond ourselves. Jesus' example is stunning—though He was God, He chose the path of a servant. This kind of love costs us something. It means laying down our need to be right, our desire to be served first, or our demand to have our way. In practical terms, this might mean really listening when your spouse shares their day, choosing to serve when you'd rather be served, or putting down your phone to give someone your full attention. True love always involves some form of sacrifice, but it's in the giving that we discover the joy of authentic connection.

Where is God calling you to love more selflessly in your current relationships?
