Day 3
Ephesians 4:29-32
Scripture Reading(ESV)
29Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.
32Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Today's Reflection
Communication is the bridge that connects hearts, and Paul gives us wisdom for building strong, loving connections through our words and attitudes. Notice the contrast between destructive and life-giving communication. Our words have power to tear down or build up, to wound or heal. When we speak only what is 'good for building up,' we partner with God in His work of restoration in others' lives. The instruction to 'be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving' isn't just about being nice—it's about creating safe spaces where love can flourish. Bitterness, wrath, and anger poison relationships from within, but kindness and forgiveness create soil where deep connection can grow. Today, pay attention to your words and the spirit behind them. Are you speaking life into your relationships? Are you creating emotional safety for those you love?
Reflect
What changes could you make in how you communicate to better build up those around you?
