Scripture
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
The Substance of Faith
A short reflection to help you apply God's Word.
Faith is not wishful thinking. Hebrews calls it the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Faith treats God's promises as real before they are visible, because the One who made them is trustworthy. The rest of Hebrews 11 is a list of ordinary people who acted on that kind of faith: Noah built, Abraham went, Moses chose. Today, faith may look like one small act of obedience before you see the outcome.
Affirmation
A scripture-based declaration for your day.
My faith rests on God's promises. I can trust what I do not yet see, because He is faithful.
Prayer
A simple prayer to help you respond to God's Word.
Lord, increase my faith. Help me to trust Your promises even when I cannot see how they will come true. Give me courage to obey You in one small way today, believing that You are faithful to do what You have said. In Jesus' name, Amen.
