Today's Reflection
David begins this beautiful psalm by acknowledging God's intimate knowledge of every detail of his life. The Hebrew word for 'searched' means to examine thoroughly, like a careful investigation. This isn't surveillance but loving attention from a Father who delights in knowing His children completely. When you desire to grow spiritually, it's encouraging to know that God already knows your heart's longing before you even express it. He sees your sincere desire to draw near to Him, and He responds with joy. This passage reminds us that spiritual growth begins with recognizing God's personal interest in our lives. He knows when we sit and when we rise, our thoughts from afar, and is acquainted with all our ways. This knowledge isn't meant to intimidate but to comfort—you are fully known and fully loved. As you begin this journey of growing closer to God, rest in the beautiful truth that He has been watching over you with perfect love long before you began seeking Him.
