When we are hurting, we often feel that God is far away. This verse says the opposite: the Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart. He does not stand at a distance waiting for us to recover. He draws near in our grief and saves those of a contrite spirit. If your heart is broken today, you do not need the right words. You can simply bring your pain to Him. He is already near.
