Scripture
Colossians 3:23
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily , as to the Lord, and not unto men;
As Unto the Lord
A short reflection to help you apply God's Word.
Paul first wrote this to servants, people whose work was often unseen and unthanked. He told them to work heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. That changes the meaning of ordinary tasks. Washing dishes, answering emails, studying, caring for children: all of it can be offered to God. Your work may go unnoticed by people today, but it is never unnoticed by Him. Do it well, and do it for Him.
Affirmation
A scripture-based declaration for your day.
Whatever I do today, I do it heartily as unto the Lord. My ordinary work matters to God.
Prayer
A simple prayer to help you respond to God's Word.
Lord, I offer You the work in front of me today, the visible and the unseen. Help me to do it with a willing heart, as for You and not for praise. Give me joy in serving You in ordinary places. In Jesus' name, Amen.
